From antiquity to the present, an unequal dualism has persisted across Eastern and Western thought\u2014a dichotomy in which one side claims supremacy over the other, placing women in an uneven struggle against men, seemingly destined to have no victor other than the male. Is the female body truly the locus of shame and sin, or is this a construct fashioned by the male mind to consolidate its own power and dominion? From ancient myths to the most conservative religious interpretations, the female body has continuously been regarded as the “most sinful part of existence”.<\/p>

From the dawn of creation, when mythological accounts tell of Lilith and Adam being formed in the Garden of Eden, Adam, driven by self-interest, presumed Lilith was created solely for his obedience and pleasure. Lilith therefore embodies the human being who recognizes her innate equality with Adam and refuses to submit to his claim of supremacy. At this precise juncture, her name became bound to wickedness; cast out of paradise, she was branded a “night demon” and an evil spirit.<\/p>

A woman who stands against male totalitarianism today is perceived by the dominant structure as that same rebellious Lilith\u2014a transgressor who falls from grace in the eyes of male deities and mortal men, labeled the mother of wickedness and treated as fertile ground for the devil\u2019s arrival. Her body is turned into a battlefield where she is simultaneously victim and executioner. Her physical form must be disciplined, covered, and suppressed lest man\u2014like an immature, will-less child\u2014fall into sin.<\/p>

Society bifurcates women into “good” and “bad”. Yet what governs this distinction? It is a boundary drawn entirely by the patriarchal imagination: a woman who is obedient and submissive is deemed “good,” while one who resists is branded “bad and strayed”. When she is told to “sit” and complies, she is praised; the moment she rebels, she is stamped with deviance. Through this lens, women’s authentic reality is disregarded, measured solely as a reflection of male desires. The “good woman” is compelled to live within the confines of the male mind, while rebellious women breach these fences, venture into the unknown, and claim the power to create new worlds.<\/p>

Myths are not false fables; they are metaphors and reflections of a society’s psyche and structure. Rooted in the collective unconscious, they take shape within collective behavior. Thus, the struggle of the defiant woman never remained confined to the Garden of Eden; it followed her beyond its gates and spilled into the streets of the present.<\/p>

When an Afghanistani woman walks through alleys and markets, she feels the weight of piercing, entitled, and lustful stares from afar. Even as she tries to avoid physical contact, she faces persistent harassment and cutting remarks. Should she raise her voice against this violation, she is treated as the guilty party, accused of staining sacred sanctities\u2014like an impurity attempting to defile pure water!<\/p>

Women have traveled a long road to liberate their bodies and minds from labels, surveillance, and coercion, but a longer path still lies ahead\u2014a journey to prove that a woman is not merely a “wife, beloved, mother, or childbearer”. Dressing with care is not deceit or provocation. And a woman cannot be reduced to merely \u201ca muse for a poet longing for possession.\u201d She is a human being possessed of complete individuality, autonomy, and identity.<\/p>

Woman is not deficient in intellect; nor is she inherently dependent or incomplete. In mythology, Lilith embodies complete human agency and independence.\u00a0In esoteric traditions, primal humanity before the emergence of Eve integrated both masculine and feminine dimensions\u2014animus and anima\u2014a synthesis of gentleness, discernment, courage, and patience. Yet when Lilith refused subservience and left Adam to his solitude, Adam fashioned Eve out of his own needy projections: a companion taken from his rib so that she would remain compliant and dependent. With Lilith\u2019s departure and Eve\u2019s separation,\u00a0it was Adam who lost half of his inner being and became incomplete\u2014not a woman.<\/p>

Genuine equality finds its meaning in Lilith\u2019s conscious defiance, not in the submission of an Eve patterned after male desire.\u00a0Today\u2019s woman is no longer ashamed of being \u201cLilith.\u201d\u00a0To reclaim equal human dignity, the historical archetype of the docile, disempowered woman must be dismantled, just as a spiritual seeker dissolves the false self in pursuit of truth and awareness.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
